Heilbronn, July 01, 2024 - GGB Heilbronn GmbH celebrates its 50th anniversary and looks back on half a century of innovation, growth and commitment. Since its foundation in 1974 as ihg Gleitlager GmbH (Industrie-Hochleistungs-Gleitlager), the company has developed into a leading supplier of high-performance plain bearings and tribology solutions.

A milestone in the company's history was the cooperation agreement with Glacier UK, which significantly boosted the company's internationalization and growth. The growing demand for the reliable and durable sliding materials meant that the company had to expand its production capacities.

In order to meet the increasing requirements, IHG invested in the development of a special parts production facility and the expansion of the production facilities. In 1991, the company finally relocated to the Böllinger Höfe in order to meet the increasing space requirements and to further optimize the production process.
