GGB's Fiber Reinforced Composite Bearing Solution for Crop Sprayer Boom Arms
Bearing Application Requirements
Crop sprayers, both self-propelled and trailed, incorporate plain bearings in the pivot joints of the arms to fold and unfold them.
This demanding application requires plain bearings that can operate in all types of harsh weather conditions and resist corrosion from chemical exposure during controlled dosing of dry or liquid herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers.
GGB Agricultural Plain Bearing Solution
The inert composition and structure of self-lubricating, maintenance-free HSG (High Strength GAR-MAX®) fiber reinforced composite bearings make them ideally suited to applications requiring resistance to humid environments and numerous chemical substances.
As well as their excellent corrosion resistance, HSG bearings also offer the following additional benefits:
- Environmentally friendly dry operation eliminating possible soil pollution from grease
- Reduced equipment costs without the need for lubrication systems, pathways, hoses, nipples/zerks and expensive grease retention seals
- Reduced ownership cost with maintenance-free operation and extended service life
- Higher productivity without downtime for bearing maintenance and replacement
- Lightweight, compact and rugged bearing design with excellent resistance to shock loads, shaft misalignment and abrasion
